Former Senior Sindh Minister Imtiaz Shaikh was admitted to protective pre-arrest bail till November 15 by a division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC), comprising Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed here on Thursday in a new case registered by PS Fojdari, Shikarpur.

The bench was seized with a confirmation of bail application filed by Imtiaz Shaikh in an alleged case of kidnapping for ransom. When the application was taken up, Raza Hashmi, Special Public Prosecutor under objection by the applicant pointed out that the applicant/accused was not present before the court and that pre-arrested bail granted to him earlier by a bench be cancelled.
